Veterans Assistance Program
Every month, our Post receives many calls from veterans seeking assistance. These calls for assistance include requests for food aid, help finding transportation or housing, and help meeting the daily needs of their families. While Pasadena Post 13 does not provide cash assistance, the Veterans Assistance Program was recently established to help meet these needs through the provision of gift cards and other resources, such as boxes of canned goods, clothing, or toiletries, as become available.
The Program officially got off the ground in August 2020, with gift cards ranging from $25 - $50 for stores such as Target, Vons, Ralphs, Taylor's Meat Market, and ARCO. As such, veterans are welcome to begin applying for these cards. The Program aims to distribute two to four $25 - $50 gift cards per month, with a goal of distributing at least 25 gift cards per fiscal year.
Applications can be obtained by contacting the Commander via calling or emailing the Post. Veterans do not need to be members to apply. Also, even though we aim to provide assistance to the Pasadena, San Gabriel Valley area, they do not need to be Pasadena residents to apply.
